“Let us put Thunder Bay first!” – Frank Pullia

THUNDER BAY – Now that the weather cleared sufficiently to let all candidates bring their signs down, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my family, friends and supporters throughout this wonderful city of ours, we couldn’t have made this far without you. I applaud you for your hard work, your generosity of heart, and for your contribution for a new, vibrant, and prosperous Thunder Bay.

I want to congratulate Mayor Elect Keith Hobbs for his win and a well-run campaign, and Lynn Peterson for her years of dedication and commitment to our city. Her contribution over the years has been invaluable and has positioned Thunder Bay well for a brighter and prosperous future. I am sure that it is appreciated by all citizens. Thank you!

I also want to congratulate all councillors both new and outgoing for their contribution and commitment to our city. For those who did not win, just to participate and let your names stand for political office is a great commitment. You are all winners.

Last but not least, we appreciate the efforts and hard work of John Hannam and the staff at City Clerk’s Office for bringing the vote out and for putting Thunder Bay on the national map with their mobile voting van.

The people of Thunder Bay have spoken. They have spoken through the democratic process. However, I believe that our message for a new vision, and a brighter future for all has come through loud and clear.

It is now up to the new Mayor and Council to respond to this call. A call that will put people first, and will resonate with one voice in a spirit of unity and cooperation, saying: “Let us put Thunder Bay first”!

Thank you all.
