THUNDER BAY – Horizon Wind Inc. has issued a statement responding to City of Thunder Bay Recommendations of Administration re: Big Thunder Wind Park:
Here is the text of the company’s statement:
“Horizon Wind Inc. continues to work cooperatively with the Thunder Bay City Council, City of Thunder Bay Administration and the general public to provide appropriate and timely information regarding the Big Thunder Wind Park.
“Horizon Wind Inc. proposed the Big Thunder Wind Park following considerable research and evidence-based studies, analysis and planning conducted by industry professionals. The company has never doubted the accuracy of its findings, which has been supported by two independent consultants.
“As such, Horizon Wind Inc. maintains that the Big Thunder Wind Park is a positive project that will accrue many environmental, social and economic benefits for the City of Thunder Bay and its residents.
“In recent months, Horizon Wind Inc. has remained focused on following and even going above and beyond the process expectations and regulations set by the Government of Ontario regarding wind farm developments. The company will continue to update project stakeholders and the community about the Renewable Energy Approval (REA) application process.”
Thunder Bay City Council will be making a final decision regarding the wind farm atop the Nor’Wester Mountains on October 18th.
