OTTAWA – The vote tonight was decisive and the debate on C-391 has now ended.

By casting a vote against the motion from the Public Safety Committee, which was designed to kill C-391 and maintain the Long Gun Registry, I have a fulfilled the strong mandate given to me by the constituents of Thunder Bay – Rainy River on this issue.

I thank the people of Thunder Bay – Rainy River for providing me with such a strong and clear mandate on this issue and for their continued support as we move forward in search of more effective and balanced gun control policies that better respect the rights, privacy, culture, and traditions of all Canadians.
