THUNDER BAY – Canadian singer, writer, producer and extensive award winner Carolyn Dawn Johnson is set to embark on a multi province tour this fall in support of her recent album, Love Rules (Dancing Lily / Road Angel Entertainment / Universal Music Canada). Released in August 2010, Love Rules is the country artist’s first release in four years. Having taken a hiatus to focus on writing and to start her family, this tour will allow fans across the country to reconnect with Johnson in a way that only a concert experience can.

Johnson will be playing at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium on October 17, 2010.

The extensive tour kicks off in Medicine Hat, Alberta with shows in four provinces. No stranger to performing, Johnson has toured several times throughout her career. She has opened for country superstars Reba McEntire, Keith Urban, and Kenny Chesney, as well as headlining her own shows across North America.

“I’m looking forward to being on the road and performing again,” says Johnson. “It’s exhilarating for me to get on stage and let the music take over. I love the new album and can’t wait to play some of it as well as some of the past music I’ve recorded for a live audience again.”

Johnson’s fourth studio album, Love Rules, has a fresh sound laced with strong vocals and melodic guitars throughout. Johnson has always been recognized for her writing, and Love Rules is no exception. She has an incredible ability to evoke real life experiences and the emotions behind them. The first single Let Me Introduce Myself brushed the top five on Canadian country radio, and for several weeks was the highest ranked country song in Canada on the BDS Canadian Top 50. The new album is also produced by Johnson, who was awarded with CCMA’s Producer of the Year in 2004 and 2009, with co-production on five songs by Nashville-based producer Frank Rogers (Trace Adkins, Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker).

With sixteen CCMA awards already to her name and a nomination in the Female Artist of the Year category at this year’s event, she has quickly proven to Canada that she is back on the country music scene with gusto.  Johnson originally launched her career after recording the smash hit Complicated for her debut album Room with a View. Complicated was a #1 hit on the Canadian Country Music Chart, and a top five hit on the U.S Billboard Hot Country Song Chart. This accomplishment solidified her name in country music and won her an Academy of Country Music Award for Top New Female Vocalist in 2002.

In addition to Johnson’s ACM and CCMA Awards, she also has a JUNO Award, an American Music Award and multiple publishing awards to her name. Those hoping to see her live will not be disappointed. Known for her sweet vocals and guitar driven performances, Johnson is back and better than ever.
