Thunder Bay Police Service Investigating Homicide

THUNDER BAY – The Criminal Investigations Branch of the Thunder Bay Police Service is investigating a homicide at a south side hotel.  Officers were called to a room at the Travel Lodge at 698 West Arthur Street just before 10:00 a.m. this morning.  Staff had discovered a 30 year old female in a room who appeared to be deceased.  Police and EMS were notified.

The room is being held as a crime scene.  Evidence at the location indicates the woman was a victim of foul play.  The exact cause of death is still to be determined pending a postmortem examination.

A 33 year old female is in custody in connection with this incident.  Charges are pending.  The name of the victim can not be released until next of kin are notified.
