Thunder Bay Marathon Announces Prizes for Top Runners

Thunder Bay – The Board of Directors of the Thunder Bay Marathon – Miles with the Giant are extremely pleased to announce that the inaugural event on Sunday, September 19th will feature $12,000 in cash awards.  The cash awards will include $2,000 for the first male and female finishers of the marathon and $1,000 for the first male and female finishers of the half marathon.

There will also be cash awards for the top male and female finishers from Northwestern Ontario.  Full details of the cash prize program are available at www.thunderbaymarathon.com

“We are very excited to be able to offer such substantial awards for our first event,” says Barry Streib, President of the Thunder Bay Marathon – Miles with the Giant Board.  “I would especially like to thank our awards sponsor RBC for their financial support of the awards program. We are hopeful that this sizeable purse will entice elite athletes from near and far to participate in our marathon and half marathon events.  We would also like to thank Fresh Air Experience for their support for the Top Northwestern Ontario Finishers,” added Streib.
