TBSN MP Hosting Business Breakfast

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay–Superior North MP and Small Business & Tourism Critic Bruce Hyer is inviting local small businesspeople to a special breakfast forum to hear concerns and answers to the question: How can government help small business thrive?

“As both a local Member of Parliament and a small business owner, I understand the challenges small businesses face.” remarked Hyer. “Taxes, government red tape and high credit card merchant fees are just some of the things that can hold small businesses back. But nurturing small business growth is especially important for jobs and the economy: small and medium-sized businesses have been responsible for the lion’s share of sustained economic growth in Canada for the last few decades. Moreover, they don’t just take their profits and run – they invest locally, in the community where they carry on their business. Supporting small business just makes good economic sense.”

“I’m pleased to be spearheading a new Small Business Task Force that is looking at policies to make life easier for small business, and I want to hear the concerns and ideas of our local small businesspeople.” Hyer said.

The “business casual” complimentary buffet breakfast will be informal and seating will be on a first come, first served basis:
