NIPIGON – Have you ever wanted to paint the town red? Well, maybe not red but your chance to paint is here. Nipigon’s Economic Development Office Sarah Lewis shares, “Council have given approval and support to our request to allow volunteers to do a “facelift” to the businesses on Front St. most in need”.
What is especially special about small towns in Northwestern Ontario is the spirit of community that still reigns. It’s a little like an old west barn raising, only this venture will have Nipigon residents out making sure that their town is looking more spiffy. While there are some vacant buildings in Nipigon, they actually represent opportunity for a new entrepreneur who might find the location perfect for their dream business.
Approval has been received from the owners of the Plaza, Gina’s restaurant, Ingrids’ Hair Styling and the former H & R Block location.
The proposed time for this event is 6:30 p.m. on Wed. July 7th with a follow-up on Thurs. July 8th, same time.
Those interested in joining in, are invited to meet in front of the Plaza. Wear old clothes and bring favourite tools, paint brushes, etc. if you have them.
Gina Barnes will bring a step ladder and a 2-step stool.
