Josh KlukieTHUNDER BAY – On June 12, 2010, Paramedics and supporters from across the district participated in the 8th Annual EMS Golf tournament. The event held at Dragon Hills Golf Course raised funds for the Josh Klukie Memorial Award. 76 participants that included Paramedics, Police Officers, Firefighters and our supporters all came out to have some fun and help us raise the funds. Over the past three years EMS Golfers have now donated $4,463.69 towards this award.

The Josh Klukie Memorial Award was initiated by many of his former college classmates and friends who proposed this award for the Paramedic Program at Confederation College. The Josh Klukie Memorial Award is presented each year to a second year Paramedic Program student at Confederation College who exemplifies the qualities Josh was known for among his peers. Josh Klukie served with the 1st Battalion; Royal Canadian Regiment was killed while on patrol in the Panjawii district of Afghanistan on Sept. 29 2006.

A Cheque will be presented to Confederation College’s Thunder Bay campus by Ernie Kadikoff, on behalf of Superior North EMS Golfers and their supporters.

“I would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2010 EMS Golf Tournament and to those that donated making this year a huge success,” said Ernie Kadikoff, the tournament organizer and Deputy Chief Eastern Region – SNEMS. “We are already planning next years event, which I anticipate to be even more exciting”.
