THUNDER BAY – Steve Paterson recorded his fifth shutout of the season, as the Thunder Bay Chill defeated the Springfield Demize 3-0. In what was the third game of a five game road trip for the Chill, Brandon Swartzendruber scored twice to help the Chill reach three straight wins on the road.

Swartzendruber started the scoring out for the Chill in the 13th minute, assisted by Gustavo Oliviera. Shortly after, Miguel Abascal scored his second goal of the season in the 15th minute to make it 2-0. Swartzendruber struck again in the 87th minute, hammering home a free-kick.

“We kept possession really well, and that led to scoring opportunities as we out shot them 11-2,” said Chill Head Coach, Tony Colistro.

Andrew Marinez sat out the game, serving a one-game suspension, while Nolan Intermoia returned from suspension for the Chill. The Chill now head to Liberty, Missouri to face the Kansas City Brass on Canada Day; July 1st, 2010, kicking-off at 9:00 p.m. (EDT) at William Jewell College.
