Chill Start Slow – Finish with a win

Rochester, Minneapolis Steve Paterson earned his first shutout of the season as the Thunder Bay Chill defeated the Rochester Thunder 2-0 on Saturday night. Nolan Intermoia scored both goals for the Chill, helping the team to their second victory in as many nights.

The fans at Rochester Technical Community College saw a scoreless first half, with the Chill feeling the affects of their road trip. However, Nolan Intermoia broke the draw in the second half, scoring for the Chill in the 47th minute. Intermoia secured the win in the 65th minute, scoring his second goal of the match.

Chill Head Coach Tony Colistro was aware his team’s sluggish start, but was happy with the team effot; “Rochester game out hard at first, but we were able withstand the pressure”. “Rochester are a strong team, and it was an aggressive game, but we game out on top”, Colistro stated.

The second game of the two-game series takes place tomorrow, Sunday, June 6th, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. (EDT).
