THUNDER BAY – If you follow the local music scene, this weekend is a big one. Over 50 musicians from around the city will be hitting the stage of the Black Pirates Pub to perform at the 7th annual Cover Show, a two night event featuring local bands paying tribute to some of the biggest names in rock, metal, pop and punk.
Hosted by Wiggins Pro-Ductions, the Cover Show has become a staple event for the city’s music community. From its first inception in 2003, the Cover Show has grown from a simple gig to one of the most anticipated local events of the year.
“The Cover Show is easily the biggest event we host each year,” says Cover Show founder and head of Wiggins Pro-Ductions, Jimmy Wiggins. “It’s a chance for people to hear their favorite songs being played live by some of the best musicians Thunder Bay has to offer”.
This year’s lineup features a diverse mix of cover bands including: The Beatles, The Guess Who, Hall & Oates, Lady Gaga, Queens of the Stone Age, Johnny Cash, Cake, NOFX, Paramore, Mr Bungle, Clutch and much more.
Doors open at 7:30pm on both Friday June 4th & Saturday June 5th at the Black Pirates Pub in the Port Arthur downtown core. Tickets are available at the door.
