Thunder Bay Airport – Expanded Hangar officially opens at Thunder Bay International Airport!

The official opening of the Hangar Expansion highlights Wisk Air Helicopter’s continued growth since being issued its Operators Certificate by Transport Canada in 1996.

Originally formed as a leasing company in 1984, Wisk Air has grown significantly and enjoys considerable success thanks to its employees, choice and use of helicopters and specialized equipment.

Wisk Air Helicopters, with the assistance of North West Installations and the cooperation of the TBIAA, recently completed construction of an expansion of the Company’s main facility at Thunder Bay Airport.  The Company’s hangar was more than doubled in size from 3600 to 8400 square feet.

Wisk Air Helicopters is very active in supporting the mining and mining exploration sectors, including the “Ring of Fire,” and has grown to become one of Ontario’s largest helicopter operators with a fleet of seven aircraft.

Wisk Air’s commitment to customer service has been the cornerstone of its success over the past thirty years.  Mark Wiskemann and the Wisk Air staff remain committed to the region, and in particular their customers and business partners.

On Friday, May 28th, at 10:00 a.m., the Thunder Bay International Airports Authority will join Wisk-Air in celebrating the Official Opening of the Hangar Expansion located at 520 Orville Wieben Cr., Thunder Bay International Airport.
