THUNDER BAY – Music and Film in Motion (MFM) have announced their next workshop from the InSight and Sound Seminar Series titled “Short Film Distribution” on Wednesday, May 26th from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Victoria Inn in Thunder Bay.
How is distributing a short different from distributing a feature? What can a distributor do to help? If you are a filmmaker looking to distribute a short or are in the process of making one, this session is for you!
The session will be instructed by Jessica Parkinson, Acquisitions Supervisor for Ouat Media. Jessica manages international film acquisitions for Ouat Media, a distributor specializing in short films. Based on her previous years of experience in television sales and marketing, Jessica has an eye for finding successful films for the world market. She has traveled to festivals and markets around the world seeking quality films. In her previous life, Jessica worked in the publishing industry where she honed her skills in film criticism.
The session, free for members and $5 for non-members, will be taking place in the Port Arthur Room at the Victoria Inn, located at 555 West Arthur Street, in Thunder Bay. If you are outside the Thunder Bay region and cannot attend the session in person, a live stream is available.
