THUNDER BAY: Marian Ritchie from Georgetown, Ontario, is the author of The Long Way Home, A Journey Through Alzheimer’s will be the special guest speaker on Thursday 20th May at Rendezvous 2010: Charity Dinner, and Volunteer Appreciation Night.
The event is an annual celebration of the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay and will feature a sit down dinner, silent auction and a volunteer recognition ceremony with the 5, 10 and 15 year pins being awarded to recipients. Also new to this year’s celebration is a cheque presentation of the first local Social Science Research grant recipient.
Rendezvous has traditionally been about the volunteers and is expected to be a big night with over 250 attendees. In addition to guest speaker Marian Ritchie, Mike Kopot of Thunder Bay who received his 15 year pin last year will speak about the time, work and dedication he has given to the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay in the last decade and a half.
