Investigation Continues into Accident

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay Police Service report that “A 37 year old Thunder Bay man died as a result of a motor vehicle collision which occurred just after 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The collision occurred on Red River Road between Court Street North and Algoma Street.

Darren Dolph was riding his motorcycle westbound on Red River Road when he collided with a pickup truck driven by a 49 year old man. The pickup appeared to be turning into the Parkade entrance from the eastbound lane. Police, Fire and Ambulance responded to the incident. Westbound traffic was diverted for several hours for the Traffic Unit’s investigation.

Mr. Dolph was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre by Superior North EMS following the collision. He was pronounced dead a short time later.

The investigation is continuing.
