Looking at the situation from the outside (getting away from the forest to see the trees), I’ve had occasion over the last four years to stay with my sister and brother in law a number of times, one of those times being 3 weeks in length last fall while my husband was hospitalized. The following are some of my
observations –
The wooded area could only be described as peaceful & calming as I walked through it to the hospital or as I sat in the living room, noticing the various kinds of trees, birds and the stream. (the well worn paths would indicate that many others enjoy this area)
The “wooded area” is a large part of what makes River Terrace the unique residential area that it is…an oasis set apart from “city busy-ness” (a relaxed and quiet setting).
I’ve noticed children playing freely. Would this continue if the wooded area was changed to a residential development?
To those in authority, please take careful consideration before making such drastic changes that cannot be undone.
