THUNDER BAY – The cloud of volcanic ash from the Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland is now impacting flights in Newfoundland. Air Canada and Jazz advise that flights to, from or connecting through the airport(s) listed may be delayed or cancelled due to the event described. Westjet Airlines is also stating that flights to Newfoundland will be impacted by the ash cloud.

The cloud of volcanic ash which has impacted European airports and flights for the past five days has now drifted across the Atlantic to North America.
