Miss Emily Brown Set to Play the Apollo

THUNDER BAY – Miss Emily Brown is set to perform new tracks from her sophomore album In Technicolor at Apollo in Thunder Bay. The show is on tonight starting the Apollo with the music set to start at 9PM. The singer/songwriter is touring across Canada in support of her album that was released January 18th, 2010. The show at the Apollo gets underway with opening act Steve Brockley.

In 2008, CBC’s Alan Neal named her debut album Parts of You Pours Out of Me one of the top twelve albums of the year.  Since that time she has toured constantly, opening for acts such as Mother Mother and Hey Ocean at venues and festivals across Canada and the US.  Her songs have also been featured on campus radio stations across the country and on CBC shows such as Canada Live, Canada Next! And All Points West.
The Iroquois born songstress was also the recipient of a 2009 Canada Council for the Arts grant for composition, a winter-long songwriting project in which she was able to explore her grandmother’s journal from World War II and draw inspiration for her latest release.
