- Sleeping Children Awake is an award-winning docudrama outlining the history of the residential school system, and how it personally affected generations of First Nations.  Recollections and experiences from Residential School survivors and their families are bridged with dramatic excerpts from Shirley Cheechoo's autobiographical play, Path With No Mocassins.  Originally premiered at Lakehead University in 1992, it has recently been featured on CTV. Producer Rhonda Kara Hanah, and Residential School survivors Clara Quisess and Marena Loon will take questions after the conclusion of the film.

The Global Conscience Circle (GCC)/Cercle de la Conscience Globale (CCG) is a charitable worldwide aid group that grew out of Thunder Bay's Lakehead University LU Team Africa(2000), LU Team China (2005), and LU Team India (2006).

The GCC/CCG will host an information table in the upcoming Vanderwees Greenhouse's First Christmas Craft Fair on Dec.6th & 7th

 


Thunder Bay Movie Listings

The Thunder Bay Community Choir, directed by Mary McGhee, is presenting “An Advent Meditation, Choral Music for Advent.” The Choir will welcome Ellen Hole as organist, Marcella Smithers as pianist, in addition to a special guest musician. The concert will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church on Sunday, November 30th at 4:00 pm. The church is located at 207 South Brodie Street, across from City Hall. Donations accepted in support of AIDS Thunder Bay.
