Jordan WabasseTHUNDER BAY – (Updated) As daylight fades on Day 13, the ground search for Jordan Wabasse, along the Kaministiquia River bank in the vicinity of the James Street Bridge has been conducted with negative results. The aerial search has been postponed until tomorrow (Monday) due to a delay in the arrival of the O.P.P. helicopter.

Searchers are in need of Orange Vests for safety. Volunteers, searchers, for support and for financial donations needed from the non-aboriginal or Aboriginal community, receipts will are given for your financial help.  Contact people are at …Peter Jacob, Jordan’s Granddad @ 807-621-5709 or Lillian @ 807-708-1479.

Additionally, drivers are needed to ferry out searchers and back. If you can help, even for part of a day, it would be appreciated.

On Family Day, it would be a great show of support and unity in Thunder Bay for families to make a donation to the search effort. One idea would be to head to Fort William First Nation and fuel up your car. Gas prices are just over $1 per litre, and you could donate the difference to the cause.

On Family Day, there will be a one day Pow Wow at the Dennis Comarty Franklin School on Edward Street from 6-10PM. There will be songs for Jordan and a Blanket Dance for donations.

The Thunder Bay Police, the O.P.P. and Nishanabe Aski Police along with volunteer searchers remain focused on the search.

The friends and family supporting the search have created a Facebook Group, and encourage people in Thunder Bay and beyond to join and share the group with your family and friends. The further the information goes, the greater chance, if Jordan is outside of the city of Thunder Bay that someone will know something.

You can, from the Facebook site, find out ways you can help.

If you have any information you are encouraged to share it with the Thunder Bay Police Service at 684-1200.
