Jordan WabasseTHUNDER BAY – The investigation into the disappearance of Jordan Wabasse is continuing into Day 13. Thunder Bay Police Service report that “A search of a wooded area off of City Road east of James Street was conducted Friday by the Anishinabek Police Service and volunteers. Results were negative”. Thunder Bay Police have begun a search of the river banks adjacent to the original dive site on the Kaministiquia River near James Street.

The search has not found Jordan yet.

The Ontario Provincial Police helicopter which was expected in Thunder Bay on Saturday, has been delayed in its flight from southern Ontario to Thunder Bay due to weather. The aircraft is now expected to be in the air Sunday afternoon. An aerial search will be conducted of the Kam River.

It has not been reported as to what impact the overnight snow will have on the search efforts.

Volunteers are still needed at the Search Headquarters on Fort William First Nation, just cross the James Street Swing Bridge, the building is the first right after you cross the bridge.

The volunteers at the Headquarters report, “Some things that are needed include: industrial garbage bags; someone to take the Garbage out to the dump; we need help cleaning up and mopping the floor. As well, lunches, bottled water, and snacks are needed for the searchers.

If you have a donation, you would like to make, you can call (807) 708-1479, Lillian Suganaqueb or (807) 620-4632, Jackie Shewaybick to have someone come and pick up donation too.

Over the course of the Family Day weekend, consider that a few hours of your time would help the family and friends of Jordan Wabasse.

Donations to keep the search going are needed too. Even a small donation helps. Think of this, Monday is a holiday, if you took a quick trip out to Fort William First Nation, fueled your car up with gas, and donated the savings to the search effort, your donation would, in effect, not really cost you anything, but will really help. On Sunday morning the price of a litre of gasoline is $1.03.6 on FWFN at one of the stations. That is up to 13 cents less than the next lowest price. (Just an idea ~ James)
