Tornado Watch in Effect for Thunder Bay

THUNDER BAY – ***** This alert has ended ***** -Environment Canada has issued a TORNADO WATCH for Thunder Bay.

A few thunderstorms capable of producing brief, isolated tornadoes. This is an alert to the potential development of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds.

Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements. If threatening weather approaches..Take immediate safety precautions.

Scattered strong thunderstorms are developing in Northwestern Ontario ahead of a cold front which will cross the region this evening. A few of these storms may become severe with conditions becoming more favourable for isolated tornadoes. Large hail to 2 centimetres and brief wind gusts to 90 km/h are also possible. The threat is expected to end a little later this evening as the cold front passes through.

    John,

    All of the articles on NNL remain up and online. Sometimes, in the case of legal articles they will be edited.

    While NNL didn’t cover the story on the young offender whose name was released, if we had, the article would have been edited afterward to remove that individual’s name.

    Meanwhile there is likely to be a Google Cache of the original as well.

    What we will do however is make sure once the alert is over to update the story.
